‘Franchise Times’ features Mountain Mike’s franchise owner who won’t let pandemic or wildfires slow him down

Sonu Chandi has seen a lot of ups and downs since opening his first Mountain Mike’s in 2007, and he’s faced some really harrowing challenges since 2017 as California wildfires have ravaged many of the towns where his Mountain Mike’s franchises are located.

But neither fires nor pandemic shutdowns have dampened his entrepreneurial spirit. He and his brothers, whose Chandi Hospitality Group owns several franchises, continue to conquer their challenges and move forward. Here’s what he told Franchise Times about how well he’s doing and how many restaurants he plans to build.
