Without our communities’ support, we wouldn’t be here. That’s why, when crisis hit, we stepped up to support our communities.
We have a community-first company culture at Mountain Mike’s. So when coronavirus began to spread, we naturally shifted our operations toward the safety and well-being of our customers and Mountain Mike’s employees. But of course, our franchisees didn’t stop there.
They wanted to do more. Here are just a few examples:
- Paul Grewal of Fair Oaks, CA, fed workers at neighborhood grocery stores Trader Joes and Smart & Final, as well as essential workers at Heritage Credit Union Bank, Mercy San Juan Hospital and Eskaton Care Centre; the Open California protest workers; and more.
- Yvette Pettit of Marysville, CA, delivered pizzas to the doctors and nurses at Adventist Hospital in Marysville, as well as to the medics at ambulance company BSC Emergency Services.
- Ashish Brar of Corona, CA, donated pizzas to the city’s police department and hospitals. All first responders get a free mini for pickup.
- Melissa Seita of Brentwood, CA, offered free pizza certificates to families that lost employment or were struggling financially after many first responders said they would rather the offers go to the unemployed and those needing it most.
- Sergio Vizcarra of Elk Grove, CA, said both of his locations on Waterman and Laguna Avenue have donated pizzas to local hospitals and police and fire stations. They also donated cases of gloves to the local post office.
- Jas Sohal of Lincoln and Yuba City, CA, said both locations donated to local schools for their drive-through graduation ceremonies.
Mountain Mike’s means community
Since the beginning, when we opened our first pizzeria over 40 years ago, we’ve always been a big believer in community. Our franchisees are plugged in because they and their families tend to live in the communities they serve. So when crisis hits, people can count on Mountain Mike’s to be there.
As a franchisor, we’ve been supporting our franchisees as they support their loyal guests and surrounding communities. We paused franchise royalties and waived some marketing fees to ease financial strain and distributed face masks for franchisees and their teams. We provided safety seals for pizza boxes, implemented contactless delivery and sent them in-restaurant signage to help franchise owners explain to their customers what they were doing to maintain health and safety in their restaurants. And we’ve offered as much support as possible through Mountain Mike’s Pizza Franchise Support Center, answering questions and addressing concerns.
We’re all in this together. For us, it’s not just a hashtag — it’s a core value.
