Mountain Mike’s will celebrate 15 new locations by year’s end

Increased demand and a smooth pandemic transition lead to continued growth

The interior of a Mountain Mike’s franchise shows tables and chairs with table signs proclaiming tables are temporarily closed and floor decals asking guests to stand 6 feet apart.

At the beginning of 2020, we had a goal to expand the presence of Mountain Mike’s franchises, both in our home state of California and in other Western states. While the pandemic threw a wrench into most business plans this year, we will still close out the year with 15 new locations.

Some openings were delayed, like our prototype design stores that had been set to open in the spring and instead opened this summer. But we continued to grow, bolstered by our ability to maintain strong operations and increase sales as demand for our product grew.

Here’s a list of new franchise locations and the opening or projected opening dates:

  • Morgan Hill-Condit, CA, 1/14/2020
  • Redding, CA, 2/6/2020
  • Los Banos, CA, 3/8/2020

Attracting guests to Mountain Mike’s

Mountain Mike’s Pizza has always been the go-to destination for family outings, sports teams, group fundraising events and private parties alike. When dining rooms were shut down earlier this year, we worked on new ways to connect with our guests and made sure they could still get what they wanted.

While employing new guest engagement strategies, we stayed true to what has always won people over: including high-quality, topping-packed pizzas. While other brands drive down their margins fighting to sell the most $5 pizzas, our average ticket is about $40

And sales have been up. We were able to pivot so quickly to contactless delivery that guests didn’t have to miss a single serving of our mouth-watering pizzas, including the fan favorite pepperoni pizza covered from edge to edge with mini crispy, curly pepperonis. Mountain Mike’s franchises have continued to deliver on freshness, quality and value in our pickup and delivery orders.
