Nearly half of our growth took place in Q4, and we’re planning to continue growing strategically in 2020
It almost never snows in our hometown of Newport Beach, California, but Mountain Mike’s franchise growth is picking up speed like a snowball rolling downhill, with roughly half of our 13 new locations opening in the fourth quarter.
Here’s a look at the Mountain Mike’s locations that opened this fall in California:
- Paradise, Oct. 1
- Menlo Park, Nov. 4
- Santa Maria, Nov. 18
- Sacramento, Nov. 20
- Redlands, Nov. 22
We also opened up shop in these California towns in 2019: Fort Bragg, Redwood City, Newman, Folsom, Monterey, Santa Rosa, Menifee and San Jose.
Why Mountain Mike’s is growing
Mountain Mike’s franchise is enjoying a resurgence because our “Pizza the Way it Oughta Be®” philosophy connects with so many people. For over 40 years, we’ve been the go-to spot in California for families and communities who love our mouth-watering pizzas, our legendary crispy, curly pepperoni and our warm atmosphere.
We’re not some pizza chain where you walk in, enter a vending machine code and walk out with a pizza. We thrive because we care about the communities we serve, and we become a part of them. Delivery and pick-up are an important part of our franchise business, but the big differentiator we have is that we still have a thriving dine-in business.
Mountain Mike’s becomes the place to go for local sports teams celebrating a win (or consoling themselves after a loss), for private parties and for Friday night family fun. We have a large selection of beer and wine, mouth-watering pizzas made fresh in-store with high-quality ingredients and a game room for the kids.
Why invest now
We’ve captured generations of families who grew up with us in the Bay Area and other parts of Northern California. We have wide-open territory in L.A. and the rest of Southern California, we’re ready to introduce our brand to a whole new generation of loyal fans.
Mountain Mike’s franchise growth is focused on California and the Western U.S., where over 200 of our restaurants are located. Our same-store sales have been increasing for the past several years, and our dine-in sales comprise about a third of revenue.
The $45 billion pizza industry is booming, and Mountain Mike’s stands out not only for our superior product but for the value we add to our communities. We have great opportunities to expand the brand in Central and Southern California, Oregon, Arizona, Nevada, Colorado, and Utah.
