PMQ’s Pizza Power Report 2021 places our franchise among the top-ranked brands in the nation
Mountain Mike’s signature crispy, curly pepperoni definitely helps us stand out from the crowd, and it may have had something to do with our No. 4 ranking in sales-per-unit among top pizza restaurants.
Mountain Mike’s Pizza came in at No. 21 on the list of Top 50 pizza chains in the PMQ’s Pizza Power Report 2021, and No. 4 on the list of fastest growing sales per unit.
It’s a proud moment pulled from a tough year as the restaurant industry has struggled to survive amid lockdown restrictions and business shut-downs. California, where most of our stores are located, was particularly impacted by shutdowns, but the pizza industry was the undisputed stronghold, as “most pizzeria owners bounced back, and many thrived, displaying a fighting spirit and resilience that powered communities through an unprecedented period of crisis,” PMQ writes.
While no industry is completely recession-proof, the pizza segment proved once again that it is resilient in even difficult conditions.
“The pizza category will register the strongest sales performance of any menu type in 2020,” PMQ writes.
The PMQ mention marks the second accolade for our brand in recent weeks, following on the heels of our inclusion in the Franchise Times Top 200+ ranking.
Pizza industry facing a strong 2021
The pizza segment is projected to continue growing in 2021 thanks to the industry’s ability early on to swiftly pivot to curbside pickup and contactless delivery. “…(P)izzerias offering a wide array of contactless options — from curbside and drive-through pickup to old-school doorstep drop-offs — are on the right track and should stay the course in 2021,” PMQ writes.
Mountain Mike’s plans to keep doing what we’ve been doing for 40+ years to win over our loyal customers: using fresh, quality ingredients to deliver a consistently superior-tasting product every time, and embracing the communities that support us.
